Achieve More Muscle Definition and Toning with CoolTone

Have you attempted to tone your body with thousands upon thousands of squats, lunges, crunches and other exercise only to fall short of your goals? Do you wish you had better muscle definition? Achieving a more sculpted physique is now possible thanks to CoolTone. VIVAA is proud to offer this new, revolutionary noninvasive body contouring treatment that will give your body a sculpted look without surgery or downtime.

CoolTone is a noninvasive muscle toning treatment produced by Allergan, the same company responsible for CoolSculpting and Botox treatments. Although “Cool” is in the name, the device used in the procedure does not use freezing of any sort, as does CoolSculpting. Here is how it works.

Toning Through Magnetic Muscle Stimulation

CoolTone's body contouring treatment uses Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (mms), which delivers intense pulses into the muscle fibers that involuntarily cause them to contract. Muscles readily accept magnetic energy, unlike skin and fat. In essence, the energy created by the CoolTone device induces your body to perform the same muscle contractions that occur when you perform exercises involving targeted areas but at a “super physiological” rate. This means your muscles will flex in a highly rapid manner. There’s no way to replicate the intensity of these contractions on your own.

CoolTone treatment aims to build increased muscle tone and mass in a manner that would otherwise be impossible. Many who undergo treatment often feel stronger immediately afterward.

The stimulus triggers both fast-twitch and slow-twitch fibers to induce involuntary muscle contractions and ultimately strengthen the treatment area. A single 30-minute session can stimulate more than 20,000 muscle contractions, resulting in a physical transformation of the treatment area along with more definition, toning and tightening in the abdomen, thighs and buttocks.

How Muscles Strengthen

Skeletal muscles connected to bones in your body can grow weak due to inactivity. Conversely, they grow stronger with intense exercise such as weight training. When muscles work harder than they are used to, microscopic damage occurs within the fibers, resulting in soreness or stiffness. This is a sign that the muscles are repairing themselves. Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) usually begins a day after exercise and can last up to five days. Some patients who have undergone CoolTone treatments may also experience this effect. The process to repair these muscles is known as hypertrophy, which involves the body sending specialized cells to the site of the “injured muscles” to strengthen them with new protein strands and make them stronger. The CoolTone procedure kick-starts hypertrophy, leading to increased size and strength.

What Areas Does CoolTone Treat?

CoolTone is FDA-cleared to strengthen, firm and tone the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Off-label treatment includes other body parts, including the arms and lower legs. CoolTone may be used to give patients a non-invasive butt lift, making it a great alternative to butt augmentation.

CoolTone vs. Emsculpt

Currently, no studies are available comparing the efficacy and success of the newer CoolTone vs. Emsculpt. But information suggests that in a head-to-head comparison, a CoolTone treatment will be able to deliver a higher amount of muscle-stimulating electromagnetic energy than Emsculpt.

Why is CoolTone potentially more effective than Emsculpt?

Emsculpt was one of the first muscle-toning and muscle-building devices on the market. CoolTone has 50% greater electromagnetic power than Emsculpt (1.35 T versus 0.9 T) at the point of contact. The unit 'T' stands for Tesla, a measure of magnetic field energy, and CoolTone clearly packs more power than the older technology of EmSculpt. Whether targeting the abdomen, buttocks or thighs, CoolTone strengthens, tones and firms the muscles in the treated area, resulting in a more defined and toned appearance.

What to Expect During CoolTone Treatment

The CoolTone device looks like a box on four wheels with a computer screen on the top and attached hand pieces that one of our technicians applies across the body where you want to achieve more muscle mass and definition. During treatment, muscles adapt to the intense electromagnetic energy to remodel and develop new muscle tissue. You will not feel pain, but you may feel light muscle spasms. Treatments typically last 30 to 45 minutes. During your session, our technician can increase the strength of the applied energy if you wish.

What is the Recovery Period?

You’ll experience no downtime, so you can schedule CoolTone treatment on your lunch hour and head back to work. You may feel, however, like you have gone through an intense workout. Some patients feel muscle soreness in the targeted area, similar to what occurs after an intense workout, for a day or two following the procedure.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

You’ll experience no downtime, so you can schedule CoolTone treatment on your lunch hour and return to work. However, you may feel like you have gone through a rigorous strength training session. Some patients feel muscle soreness in the targeted area, similar to what occurs after an intense workout for a day or two following the procedure.

The Difference between CoolTone and CoolSculpting

Although both non-surgical treatments come from Allergan, each treats different areas of the body. CoolTone targets muscle mass, while CoolSculpting targets fat cells. They can be used in conjunction with one another to achieve your desired look.

Who is a Good Candidate for CoolTone?

Anyone who is in good health can get CoolTone treatments. However, women should not schedule CoolTone sessions when menstruating as the energy can intensify cramps. CoolTone is also contraindicated for patients who have devices such as cochlear implants, intrathecal pumps, defibrillators, neurostimulators, drug pumps or implanted hearing aids.

You should not have the CoolTone™ treatment in areas with metal, electrical, or electronic implants/devices like cardiac pacemakers, implanted hearing devices, implanted defibrillators, implanted neurostimulators, drug pumps, or hearing aids.

Tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions as CoolTone™ should not be used over a menstruating uterus, over areas of the skin that lack normal sensation, in patients with fever, malignant tumor, hemorrhagic conditions, epilepsy, recent surgical procedure, pulmonary insufficiency, or pregnancy.

CoolTone™ should be used with caution in patients with Graves’ disease (an autoimmune disorder that causes overactive thyroid), active bleeding disorders, or seizure disorders.

CoolTone™ should not be used in the heart or head areas, areas of new bone growth, over the carotid sinus nerves, or over the neck or mouth. CoolTone™ should not be applied over swollen, infected or inflamed areas or skin eruptions. Caution should be used for patients with suspected or diagnosed heart problems.

Common side effects may include, but may not be limited to, muscular pain, temporary muscle spasms, temporary joint or tendon pain, and redness at or near the treatment site.

The VIVAA staff will gladly help you through your decision about CoolTone and consult with you about the procedure that is right for your needs. Contact us today at 425-250-9999 to set up your free consultation.
